I recently discovered that there is a little known hot spot of amazing skin care brands in Georgia! It’s always refreshing to discover up and coming brands that are homegrown right here in the states. Here are four brands worth checking out that are created in our favorite peach state. These might even make you want to look into Atlanta real estate so you can get a dose of Georgian skin care every day.
1. Hollybeth Organics
Hollybeth Organics was created by Georgia native HollyBeth Anderson. HollyBeth has combined a lifetime of knowledge from her travels in Spain, Latin America, and France into an amazing organic plant-based skin care line. Each product is hand formulated, poured and packaged directly from the company’s Lakemont, Georgia home. In addition to being USDA certified organic, HollyBeth Organics is cruelty-free and is Leaping Bunny approved.
I was immediately drawn to this brand because their products are simple but powerfully formulated. For example, their Grits & Honey Scrub has a short but sweet recipe of nothing but cornmeal, honey, sweet almond oil, and vitamin E.
It’s become increasingly common for brands to throw in trendy oils and extracts to make the product more appealing when in reality the ingredient being showcased is usually very near the end of the ingredient list. That’s why I have an appreciation for wholesome recipes like the ones used by Hollybeth Organics.
2. Farm 2 Face Beauty
Shannon Palmquist is the brains behind the beauty of Farm 2 Face Beauty. She’s an esthetician with 25+ years experience who left behind a career of working in luxury Spas in Las Vegas to settle down in Georgia where she spends hours in her studio honing natural skin care and beauty formulas.
3. Sapelo Skin Care
Sapelo Skin Care is the brainchild of Stephanie Duttenhaver and Cindy Edwards. Their mission is to combine the lessons of generations of southern women with cutting edge science to create a gentle but radically effective line of skincare.
All of Sapelo’s products are cruelty-free and formulated without fillers, silicones, parabens, sulfates, GMO’s, triclosan or petrochemicals.
Sapelo Skin Care has by far the most gorgeous packaging I have seen in the skin care industry. These are the kind of bottles and pumps that beg to be put on display in your bathroom!
4. Dirty Beauty
Dirty Beauty combines science & technology to create an amazing line of natural skincare and makeup. They source fresh flowers & herbs from farms and farmer’s markets to ensure their products are as fresh as physically possible!
They boast 100% organic & cold-pressed formulas with gentle preservation where needed. I love their humorously blunt product names as well. They sell Strip (an oil cleanser, Reveal (an oat exfoliant) and Sheer (an oil-based serum).
