Polishes I’ve bought just because of the name

Hello Lovelies!

A couple days ago Anna from Beauty by Shortylegs did a tag post about the polishes she’d bought purely because of the name, apparently this tag has been floating around on youtube and somehow I never saw it! Anyways I’ve got quite a few polishes that I’ve bought just for the name so I figured I’d take a whack at it!

I finally got an X polish for that alphabet challenge I’ve been wanting to do, I actually got a couple polishes just because of what letter they started with, haha.

I just found Sally Girl XOXO, I was so happy to find it because I’ve been stalking Ulta for China Glaze X-Ta-Sea for weeks and was starting to despair of ever finding it. But then I found this 99 cent wonder!

I got Revlon Zealous and Urban because I was missing Z and U as well, Zealous is a shimmery neon lemon lime yellow that I haven’t used yet, I don’t think I would of ever gotten that one except for the name. Urban is a beautiful blueberry creme, I’m actually wearing it on my toes right now!

The last polish I got to fill in my missing letters is Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Queen Of Hearts, finding a Q was almost as hard as the X! I’ve only worn this one once, but I was amazed at it’s staying power, it went on my toes for two weeks without chipping!

And now onto the ones with fun names! OPI Viking In A Vinter Vonderland was just too punny to pass up on, and it made my Hetalia side happy 🙂 OPI has a lot of punny polish names, OPI Oy-Another Polish Joke is just the right kind of ironic!

Another polish I got because of country references is Revlon Parfumerie Italian Leather, I actually just swatched that one! The scent was spot on, a mix of old leather and new car smell.

Wet n Wild usually has pretty passe names, but I’ve stumbled on a few clever ones like Wet n Wild Fast Dry Buffy The Violet Slayer and Wet n Wild Megalast Disturbia. I did some nail art with the little “Grr Argh” monster from the ending credits with Buffy The Violet Slayer.

And lastly is Color Mates Karen’s Got A Gun, I got that one from the Dollar Tree! I’ve only seen Color Mates at the Dollar Tree, and I never see anything about them online but they’re actually quite decent polishes, this one is a really pretty dusty olive green creme, I did some tomboy nail art with it here.

So that’s all my name driven polish purchases! I’m actually surprised at how few they are, this is one of the times I’m glad I mad my stash page, going through all my polishes IRL looking for funny names would’ve been a pain! I’m planning on doing another post about polishes I’ve been wanting because of their names, be expecting a bunch of Pretty & Polished ones! If you decide to do a tag post like this, comment with a link to it so I can check it out!

Thanks for the visit!
